Welcome to the Ex-Pats english section for the Cote d’Azur’s
biggest up and coming rugby club.
Through new ownership and investment, Nice Rugby Club (RNCA) has
undertaken a large project to climb back to the top flight of French
rugby where they once were (Finalists in 1983).
This
season has seen many changes under the new
management of ex Stade Francais and France
player
Christophe MONI.
He brought with him backs coach Manu Boutet as
well as several new signings.
After being
promoted to Federale 1the (3rd highest tier
in France), the team and its new players
took time to gel however the potential was
always there and Nice won 3 of their last 4
games leading up the Christmas break. Nice's
project to get promoted to the next tier ProD2
(Fully professional) is on track.
(Click Equipe Fédérale 1 on the main menu to
track results, league table and player
profiles.)
The
club has both French and foreign investors
and the squad includes players from
France, New Zealand, Australia, South Africa
and England. This season has seen a growing
amount of expat supporters at every home
game, which makes for a great atmosphere in
the club house after the games where players
and spectators mingle. Its also a great day
out for the family, this season has seen
give aways, live bands and all sorts of fun.
Please get in touch.and we will organise
some free tickets. Merry Xmas.

The club wants to develop a place for the large ex pat community
of the Cote d’Azur to come and meet like minded other Ex-Pats and
French people, to share their passion of rugby.
They want to develop an Ex-pat society and committee within
the club.
Organise match day functions such as luncheons and dinners.
Organise member’s trips to 6 Nations and Rugby World Cup 08 fixtures.
Nice already have a thriving family youth section but want to build
on the 250 juniors who play Wednesdays and Sundays.
Dean MOXHAM (NZL) playing against ROMANS
The club has a real buzz of excitement about it with a young
talented squad and some great people backing us who have a great love for
the game.
Our derby game against Grasse saw nearly 3000 people turn up
to our stadium which shows how much potential there is in the area for a
big rugby club. I believe it’s a great opportunity for ex-pats to be
apart of something special !
I will keep everybody posted with pre and after match information
and general club news, as well as on AngloInfo.com and Rivieracentral.com.
Directions :
Our stadium, Stade Aborhas, is not far from the airport.
When driving from Nice take the Route for Digne and Grenoble. Stay on this
road for about 2ks and the stadium is on your left just after a Total Garage
on the right.
You can’t miss it. Its sign posted for rugby and has flood
lights.
